Maison Bertaux has been selling patisserie to arty types in Soho since 1871. The bijou bakery has now opened a new gallery space upstairs.
Tania Wade, sister of the cafe's owner staged the first exhibition of comedian Noel Fielding and the paintings sold like hot cakes. "the whole upstairs tearoom was an installation. I gave him the freedom to do whatever he wanted" Wade says " He calls me his hooligan art dealer".
Since then featured artists have included : Timothy Spall, Sigur Ros, Diva Zappa and Harry Hill.
